Since June 1 2019, Scandinavian Logistics Partners AB (Scanlog) ceased selling traditional air freight and launched Always Carbon Offset Air Freight.
Starting now, our Norwegian office follows suit from 1 February 2023.
For many years we have been working on the concept of Responsible Logistics with a great focus on reducing the environmental impact of transportation. Together with our customers we optimize routing, capacity utilization and not at least transport modes. Thanks to this we have become a major rail freight operator. But we are also one of the major air freight forwarders in Sweden and now we want to take a step towards reducing the climate impact of aviation. in Norway as well.
Aviation accounts for about about 2 – 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) and the transport sector as a whole account for about 15%. 15 %. Air freight offers Swedish industry and commerce the opportunity to quickly and safely bring home goods and finished products from all over the world. For the export industry air freight is in many cases the only option to transport time-sensitive, delicate or perishable products to global customers. The aviation sector’s CO2e emissions are small in relation to other sectors’ emissions, but CO2e emissions per transported unit are considerably larger than for other modes of transport.
From now on, Scanlog will always offset for the CO2e emissions caused by the air freight (including pre- and on-carriage) that is handled for its customers, by investing in projects certified according to the international standards Gold Standard and CCBS (Climate & Community Biodiversity Standard). Carbon offsetting also contributes to sustainable ecological and social development in the regions where the projects lie and contributes to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
We are the first logistics company in Norway, who always offsets all air freight we handle without cost to our customers. For us this feels very good and we of course hope that you think the same!
Please feel free to contact your customer service responsible with us or me directly if you want to talk about how we together can reduce our transports’ environmental impact. You can reach our air freight teams at email@example.com for Norway or firstname.lastname@example.org for Sweden.
