Scanlog – the Scandinavian freight logistics specialist passionate about Responsible Logistics, announced today that Mr. Lars Lerstorp has been appointed Commercial Director Rail & Road Freight Solutions.
The role of Commercial Director Rail and Road Freight Solutions entails overall commercial responsibility for Scanlog’s transport solutions within rail, road, and multimodal freight. This means responsibility for both innovative product development, supplier relations and procurement. The appointment is part of an on-going investment in continuing the rapid growth of recent years and in developing new value-creating and sustainable client offerings.
Lars has spent the last three years working on developing Scanlog’s multimodal sea freight solutions for northern Scandinavia. Prior to that, he held leading positions in the logistics industry at, among others, ASG, Danzas, DHL, Van Dieren Sweden AB and Samskip. For almost 30 years, he has worked with multimodal solutions in rail, road, and sea freight.
– I have had the privilege of working together with Lars for a few years now, and with his long and solid experience in both operations and sales he has become an invaluable part of Scanlog’s commercial organization. He is one of the best on the market and will add a lot of value to our clients and partners in this new and expanded role, says Martin Ytander, Chief Commercial Officer.
The position is one of three newly established commercial management positions at Scanlog, one for each business area. The purpose of the new roles is to strengthen the team and maintain structure and quality in the growth phase that Scanlog is in. The ambition is to become even more efficient and transparent in the customer offering.
– Next year I have my 30th anniversary in the industry, and I still think it’s just as fun to develop new logistics solutions and solve problems for our customers.
